History

In January of 1983, a group of Christians, seeing the need for a fundamental, independent church in the Greencastle area, met and formed the Grace Bible Church. Later that same year, a thirteen acre tract of land along Hoffman Road, south of Greencastle, was purchased as the future site of the church building.

After much prayer and seeking the will of the Lord, a new church building was erected for the congregation of Grace Bible Church. The first services were held in the new building on November 11, 1984.

Over the years, God continued to bless and the congregation grew. As it became evident that the existing building was growing too crowded, plans began to take shape for an addition to include more classroom space and a larger, more traditional auditorium. The ground breaking service was held on June 9, 1991, and the first service in the new addition was held on March 22, 1992.

In 2013, it was clear once again that an addition would be needed as congregants were sitting shoulder to shoulder! Groundbreaking for an addition was held on June 8, 2014, and March 22, 2015 marked the first service in the most recent addition. The addition added 35 feet to the auditorium, allowing for 12 more pews and a larger platform, 2 classrooms, a storage room, and larger rest rooms.

Because of the amount of property purchased, the church is able to have a softball field, volleyball court, a basketball hoop, space for children and teens to play other games, and still more land that can be developed as the Lord leads.

It is exciting to witness God work in the lives of the people that attend Grace Bible Church as the church body grows numerically, and most importantly, spiritually! You are invited to be a part of that special growth!
